Storytelling for me doesn’t end at video. Someday I'd like to try my hand at songwriting, and I know I have a book or two in me, but for now:
I write things about art and tech and business over on Medium.
I speak on the subject of Creative Velocity.
It all started with a blog...
In 2009 I started a blog. I was captivated by the idea that anyone could just... start something on the web and say/do whatever they wanted. Better still, if it was good enough, it could introduce you to people you look up to, or introduce you to new friends you would have never met otherwise.
For a few years I posted regularly. Then, as my first TEKST project was gearing up to launch, I decided to wind it down. I canceled my hosting plan, let the domain expire, and all but forgot about it. Eventually the hundreds of posts and countless hours of effort dissolved into the ether of the web.
Though my early musings were well intentioned, after recently stumbling across a few of the drafts I had on a dusty old thumb drive I was left feeling a bit like the 'Disappointed Picard' meme.
In truth, I think this is a very good thing. After all in the words of Muhammad Ali-
A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.
So with that, here's to looking back on all this some day with that same feeling.
